Going for a couple of beers before Mongol Horde. Unfortunately I have to go to work after so I’m going to need to act super sober.
Q:I'm seeing ft&tss in 8 days and do you have any tips about getting to the barrier at the front/stuff getting sign and pictures if franks back isn't playing up/general ft concert advice?
Oh no! I just saw this, and so your gig has probably passed. I’m sorry! General advice I can think of though:::
In the FT world, many fans have taken to queuing up early to get barrier. If this is something you’re willing and able to do, most of the other fans you will meet on the line are lovely folks. The other option is to turn up at doors and then push your way up - which no one is fond of, so I wouldn’t recommend it!
As for meeting the man himself, it depends on the night and the venue in question. Sometimes venues will allow fans to stay inside afterwards (in order to keep bar tabs running!) and he’ll come out to say inside the venue. But most of the time venues push fans out, so if you can locate a side / back door that is probably your best bet. Look where other fans are congregating and waiting, too, that’ll tip you off. However please remember to be RESPECTFUL! Frank, and the rest of the band, are lovely and kind people who are usually more than happy to take photos with fans or sign CDs / set lists / etc. But be kind and polite to them, and your fellow fans!, in return. Do not mob them when they come out, as they’re normal people and that is an overwhelming thing to experience. Also: Don’t crowd around and wait by the tour bus, do not knock on the bus door, do not try to enter their bus. On the road, the tour bus is their home and you wouldn’t invade other peoples homes, so don’t invade theirs ;)
As for other advice, have fun. Be enthusiastic, and dance, and sing. Be open minded to the openers, because you never know if they might just turn into your new favorite band. Be friendly and kind to the people around you in the queue and the crowd, because those people might turn into your new best friends. Don’t take too many photos or videos, because you’ll be ruining the view for those behind you and they will hate you - be courteous. If you see someone fall down, help them up. If you see someone looking panicked when a pit opens up, help get that person out. Look out for one another. - Val
Q:Hello :) I was just wondering if anyone who has already attended a show this tour could tell me what kind of merch Frank is selling. Does he have anything new? Photos/descriptions would be awesome, as would rough prices! Just like to know how much cash to carry into the gig, always a gamble. Thanks! :)
Basically, if you can’t make your meaning plain with all the richness of the English language, and you have to resort to cartoon faces made with punctuation marks, you’re a dick.
